Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has launched the updated Series II version of the Ghost uber luxury sedan in India at Rs. 4.5 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai).

The Rolls-Royce Ghost was first introduced in 2010 as a smaller uber luxury offering slotted under the flagship Phantom sedan. Over it’s lifespan, there have been many special edition cars introduced for various individual markets. A significant mark was the introduction of the extended wheelbase model in 2011.

Now, the British uber luxury car marque has introduced an updated version of the Ghost, in the form of this Series II model.

Changes to the car include resculpted bonnet and bumpers with increased air channeling for the front brakes via the air dam that gets subtle chrome detailing. There are also redesigned headlamps with unbroken daytime running light design and brighter and whiter LED headlamps. The car is also offered with new alloy wheel designs and paint shades to choose from.

Inside, changes include new seats with more adjustability and heating options. There are new trim materials, a new infotainment system with on-board WiFi and a 20.5GB hard drive, an updated audio interface and reworked instruments.

Under the hood, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II is powered by the outgoing model’s 6.6 litre V12 engine developing 570PS of power and 780Nm of torque. This gives the Ghost Series II a 0-100 km/h time of 4.7 seconds despite it’s weight, top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Rolls-Royce also states that it has fitted redesigned front and rear struts on the car that have been married to a new steering gear, and fitted tweaked dampers to improve the Ghost Series II’s cornering ability and better steering feedback from a thicker steering wheel rim. Ride quality and rear stability is claimed to be better too with new rear hydraulic axle bearings.
