Facebook has announced that it plans to reduce the amount of promotional posts appearing on our feeds, in light of results from a mass user survey. "People told us they wanted to see more stories from friends and Pages they care about, and less promotional content," said Facebook in a blog post.

The popular social-networking site comes added with a button designed to make it easier for its users to donate to charities for those who are battling this deadly virus. In a bid to boost Internet and phone services to affected areas in West Africa, Facebook is also deploying 100 satellite communication terminals in the region.
