Maruti Sujiki To Launch 4 New Cars By 2015

Maruti Suzuki India, is planning to bring in several new and facelifted products in the market in next 12 months.

Along with a couple of facelifts, we'll see MSI entering some new segments including sub-compact SUV, compact crossover and premium hatchback. So if you are planning to buy a Maruti in near future, here's the list of the cars that MSI will launch.

Maruti Swift Dzire Facelift
After launching the updated Swift hatchback, Maruti Suzuki is contemplating the facelifted Swift Dzire. Though, there will be no major exterior or interior changes. Of all the changes the Dzire will receive, the most notable ones will be a single chrome slat on the grille, chrome fog lamp inserts, revised bumper and redesigned headlamps. Coming to the side profile, it will remain almost unchanged except for the new alloy wheels.

Just like the Swift facelift, the Dzire too is expected to become more feature-rich than before. The mid-life facelift will get new seat upholstery, push start-stop button, reverse parking sensor, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors, steering mounted audio controls, new Bluetooth compatible music system and few other features.

Expected Launch - December 2014
Expected Price: Rs. 5 lakh - Rs. 8 Lakh

Maruti XA Alpha
Ever since its unveiling at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, the XA Alpha has been one of the most-anticipated Maruti Suzuki vehicles that will finally be rolled out in 2015. In last couple of years, we have seen the kind of response received by Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and Nissan Terano, and we know how Maruti can change the game with a really capable product in the segment. The XA Alpha is likely to be powered with the fiat-sourced 1.3-litre multijet diesel and 1.4-litre petrol mills.

Maruti SX4 S-Cross
This is yet another product that Maruti Suzuki is betting big on, though the segment it will enter isn't as big in numbers as others. Cars that we currently have in the hatchback-based crossover segment are VW Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and Fiat Avventura. However, carmakers like Maruti and Hyundai with some good products can generate volumes in newly formed segments as well. Whereas Hyundai will launch an i20 based crossover, Maruti is testing SX4 S-Cross for India.
Maruti SX4 S-Cross
The crossover will resemble to the European SX4 hatchback based 'S-Cross'. However, it will get some exterior and mechanical updates. The SX4 S-Cross is expected to feature a new pair of engines - a 1.3-litre, 92bhp multijet diesel engine and a 1.4-litre, 94bhp petrol engine.
Expected Launch - Early 2015
Expected Price: Rs. 6 lakh - Rs. 8 lakh

Maruti Celerio Diesel
Buoyed by the success of Celerio's petrol model in the Indian market, MSI is now working on a diesel avatar of the entry-level hatchback. As we reported earlier, Maruti has been developing a small 800cc diesel engine for its entry-level hatchbacks and an LCV. It is expected to carry India's most fuel efficient engine that will return an impressive 35Km/l of mileage. However, the power output won't be that impressive with 50-55bhp of maximum power. The Celerio Diesel will compete against Chevrolet Beat Diesel and Tata's upcoming compact hatchback.

Maruti YRA Premium Hatchback
Aiming to strengthen its premium hatchback market, Maruti will introduce the all new YRA to take on the recently launched Hyundai Elite i20. To be positioned above Swift, it will share its design cues with the former. The YRA will feature a wide honeycomb grille with V-shape chrome surround at the bottom, while rest of the styling is quite conservative. The daytime running lamps now come as a standard offering. It will be wider and more spacious than the Swift. The Maruti YRA is expected to be offered in two petrol (a 1.2-litre and a 1.4-litre) and a diesel (1.3-litre) engine option. The diesel engine, however, is similar to the Swift, it will be tuned to offer more power.

Expected Price: Rs. 5.5 lakh - Rs. 9 lakh
